Dennis Faver CFI CFII ASEL GOLD SEAL FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR
Dennis has been with Brunswick Air since we opened our doors in August 2010. He is a passionate pilot who shares his love for aviation at every opportunity. In 2015 he received the GOLD SEAL FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR designation. Congrats Dennis. He is also a member of the local Civil Air Patrol squadron. Dennis teaches Tuesday - Friday.
Jan Scearce ATP CFI ASEL AMEL
Jan has twenty plus years flight training experience with over seventeen years in the private sector. As a former Air Force Pilot & Flight Instructor with 7,500+ hours total time, he is also type rated in the Boeing 707. Jan joined the staff of Brunswick Air in the fall of 2010. Be sure to ask him about his book, "A Jet Pilot's Guide to Male Homemaking". Jan teaches Monday - Friday.
Rick Both ATP CFI CFII ASEL AMEL
We welcome Rick to our staff in July 2015. He retired as a 747 Captain from United Airlines and settled in Carolina Beach. With over 15,000 flight hours from his combined experiences in the Air Force (flying C121 / Constellations), General Aviation as a CFI & Part 135 charters plus during his years at United he earned type ratings in the Boeing 747, 767, 757, 737 and 727. We're excited because he decided to renew his CFII and join our staff - welcome Rick! Rick teaches a variety of days including some weekends.
Roy Bishop ATP CFI CFII ASEL AMEL
Roy had a long career at US Airways with his last few years flying internationally as Captain on the Airbus 330. He has over 24,000 hours and is type rated in the A330, Boeing 767, 757, 737, 727. He missed all that flying after retirement so he renewed his CFI and again is teaching, luckily for us, at Brunswick Air. Roy is available or Flight Review, Aircraft check outs and Stage Checks.
William "Bud" Norton ATP CFI CFII ASEL AMEL AGI IGI
Bud joined our staff in December 2016 after a short retirement. He had a 38 year airline career with an accumulation of over 28,000 flight hours. He retired from U.S. Airways as a Boeing 767 Inter'l Captain and made Wilmington NC home. He is type rated in Boeing 737, 727, 757, 767 (and now Cessna 152's and 172's) and just plane missed flying after two years of "retirement" so he refreshed/reviewed. He holds the AGI, Advanced Ground Instructor, IGI, Instrument Ground Instructor, CFI and CFII. Bud will be available to work with primary and instrument students.
David Manzel ATP CFI ASEL AMEL MASTER PILOT
Dave retired as a 777 Captain with United Airlines and joined our staff not long after we opened in 2010. Type rated in Boeing 737, 757, 767, 777 he has well over 21,000 plus hours total time. Based for many years in the Chicago area, he now makes Brunswick County home! He is a part-time instructor on staff available for air work in the Cessna 172's and air tours. In Nov 2016, Dave was the recipient of the FAA's most prestigious award for 50 years of continuous and safe flying, The Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award.... congrats Dave.
